In Southeastern Pennsylvania , the Lutheran Disaster Reponse (LDR) task force operates as part of Liberty Lutheran Services.  Nationally, over 30 Lutheran organizations work to support each other, but each carries out the LDR mission in its own way.

The core elements of our mission are volunteer training, mission trips and congregational preparedness.  We strive to respond to emergency situations both immediately and during the complete aftermath of rebuilding, which can take years.  Individuals from Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties work together to decide initiatives and support the efforts of those working with LDR to prepare and respond to disasters.

Core Competency Training is an organizational development tool that is used by Liberty Lutheran Services to instill the values of exceptional and ethical service in all employees. Staff performance is measured through the following ten competencies that align our business goals with our mission as a faith-based organization:

o Caring and Compassion;
o Communication and Listening;
o Financial Responsibility;
o Customer Service;
o Integrity and Trust;
o Job Skills and Functional Knowledge;
o Leadership;
o Outcome Orientation;
o Talent Assessment and Development;
o Team Orientation.

These Core Competencies provide a clear map for Liberty’s world–class team of professionals.
